Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Women’s National Team (WNT) Head Coach, this position coordinates essential performance analysis activities, projects and support for the WNT.  General duties include but are not limited to:  analysis of match/practice data, creation of scouting reports, attendance at WNT practices and competitions, monitoring of Athlete tracking/performance data, and coordination of WNT scouting programs and onsite data analysis at international competitions.  This position assembles confidential player and performance information.  Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. Cross departmental support is a general expectation of all USAV employees. This position is based in Anaheim, CA.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

• Conduct an in-depth analysis of the world’s leading female teams leading up to and at the Olympic Games and present findings to WNT Coaches, Staff and Athletes.
• Create, distribute, and review scouting analytics with WNT Coaches and Athletes.
• Run post-match/practice data analysis to increase the efficacy and objectivity of WNT debriefs
• Evaluate the success of training protocols using objective data analysis.
• Provide onsite scouting and data analysis at WNT international competitions, including FIVB-level events, and the Olympic Games.
• Create WNT Athlete “gold medal” performance standards for WNT Athlete evaluation, and for future talent identification.
• Attend WNT practices to capture and analyze data to be used as the basis for, and the development of, training protocols.
• Contribute to and enhance USAV’s current BCAP curriculum and help develop new modules using data driven studies and analysis.
• Develop and oversee all WNT scouting programs.
• Capture, analyze and distribute video of opposing teams to WNT Coaches and Athletes.
• Develop objective studies that improve the quality and value of WNT reports and chalk talks.
• Manage, collect, and distribute as necessary, all WNT Athlete tracking data (i.e. TOPS, Win %, Ranking, etc.).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team in collecting, organizing and analyzing training data.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Statistics, Mathematics, related degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum four (4) years of scouting, data analysis experience or related field
• Minimum three (3) years of scouting, data analysis in Volleyball
• Possess strong organizational and communications skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple competing demands
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Proficient in scouting or statistical software
• Proficient with datasets and dataset analyzation
• Experience working with the USOPC or NGB is a plus
• Experience with DataVolley, VolleyMetrics, VolleyStation, Hudl.com, and other volleyball statistical, video and analysis platforms
• Must successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date).
• Must successfully complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date.

Salary: $58,240
