We are looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Mechatronics/Electrical Engineer to join our team!

 

You will understand and will continue to develop your knowledge of complex systems, develop work instructions, train, and support production activities. In this role, you will drive the knowledge transition from R&D to manufacturing. You will develop, deploy, and support test automation solutions to volumize production, maximize test coverage, focus on product quality meeting all specifications to ensure seamless field installation. You will have the opportunity to shape the vision of an efficient manufacturing test strategy for the company and to play a pivotal role in worldwide market penetration in the field of genomics.

 

How You’ll Contribute

  • Position yourself to become the first line of defense in support of all sub-system integrations of instrument manufacturing activities, gathering a deep understanding of all interconnections, and becoming intimately knowledgeable about the hardware and software interactions.
  • Create test solutions for motion control sub-systems, custom harnesses, electrical cabinets, system calibration, data acquisition, and the interconnectivities of all sub-systems.
  • Develop, document, train, deploy, and automate firmware and software installation solutions to configure all software elements in efficient and systematic methods.
  • In collaboration with R&D subject matter experts, you will become an expert on the test of electrical interconnections, and control systems, while developing test scripts automations, and troubleshooting guides for production technicians.
  • Support contract manufacture partners during build of electrical cabinets, and all activities during system integration, test, and qualification.

 

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering/physics/electrical engineering or another relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Manufacturing Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering position with complex capital equipment involving robotics, control, optics, computing, and power supplies.
  • Experience troubleshooting instrument issues using instrumentation such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and others, as well as software log messages to diagnose hardware or software build issues.
  • Must be able to interpret technical documentation and schematics (Electrical, Wiring, Fluidic, and mechanical drawings), and build prototypes using preliminary drawings and schematics.
  • Meticulous and detail oriented, must be able to read, follow, and develop and improve upon complex operating procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills,
  • Ability to train less experienced engineers and production technicians to develop their autonomy.
