Applications Development Technology Analyst

This is an application engineering management role responsible for managing activities related to application management compliance activities in the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical understanding, managing and driving ownership in multiple safety soundness pillars. This role will be responsible to work directly with multiple technology stakeholders (development teams, Chief Technology Office (CTO), Client Technology Infrastructure (CTI), and production support groups) to own and drive the completion of these activities. This will look for process improvements and automation opportunities and work with a team of engineers to shift left. This role will influence, and provide oversight and guidance to internal development teams focused on safety soundness initiatives within North America. The successful candidate will be technically proficient in supported technologies. Candidates must have excellent platform instincts and communication skills coupled with a passion for business technology to deliver a world-class user experience. Candidates should have several years of varied IT-related experience, including successful IT implementation or design experience, as well as strong data-driven analytical skills and the ability to thrive within ambiguity. Experience with leading through influence and a demonstrated, proven track record of ownership and accountability is key. Ideal candidates will have the ability to think strategically and tactically while providing outstanding customer-centric insight. They will have an background in application development with at least 6 years demonstrated work experience, great analytical skills, strong business judgment, superb communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to resolve conflicts and set priorities.

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a position responsible for establishing and implementing safety soundness objectives for a franchise critical application in North America.

Objectives of the Role
● Manage safety soundness related activities in support of a franchise critical application
● Proficient at operating with considerable autonomy and discretion as you will significantly influence the way an application is designed and developed by providing subject specific expertise and an advanced level of understanding of application programming principles
● Understand engineering needs including those required to build, maintain, and operate the system through all phases of its life.

● Ownership attitude towards issues to work with multiple partners and drive resolution
● Ability to detect recurring failure patterns and proactively propose and drive solutions for improvement
● Demonstrated experience managing multiple work streams, building strong relationships with multiple teams
● Develop and implement best-in-class processes, metrics and practices
● Set direction and vision for the team, manage expectations of demanding clients. Strongly influence external teams for any dependencies
● Work both independently as well as ability to lead a team of onshore/offshore developers
● Evolve, champion, and enforce Agile operating principles and processes
● Ability to handle pressure and provide assistance during system outages

Responsibilities:
● Partner continuously with technical stakeholders to achieve successful software deployments in a multi-tiered environment
● Manage resources and related capacity/demand
● Manage production support escalations
● Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
● Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
● Create strong operational processes
● Maintain system hygiene and adhere to compliance/regulatory processes
● Develop strong, trust-based relationships with critical internal and external partners and challenge them to continuously improve
● Commit to provide intermittent off-hours support. Though the goal is to limit this and empower offshore
● Communicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, identify, assess, track and mitigate issues/risks at multiple levels.
● Recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialog to resolve them.
● Work across teams to optimize processes.
● Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved mechanisms for visibility ensuring your program stays aligned with organization objectives.
● Continuously assess development processes, test plans, and operations.

Qualifications:
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience primarily Java technologies. Management experience good to have
• Strong project management skills
• Familiarity with API/microservices, IaaS, PaaS environments is desired
• Working knowledge of Agile software development lifecycle, CI/CD – continuous integration, continuous delivery techniques
• Ability to take ownership of issues and drive resolution
• Flexible, proactive, and self-motivated with a proven ability to independently analyze and lead the team
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and switch gears, manage ambiguity and excel in troubleshooting techniques
• Ability to communicate and influence effectively with internal as well as external groups at varying levels of business and technical knowledge
• Leadership abilities to drive solutions and deliver with high quality , and have the vision to set the architectural direction
• Familiarity of the banking industry
