YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As the Junior Graphic Designer, your position plays an integral role in our wider Communications team. Working within a small team of designers, you will use your creative skillset to produce high quality, impactful work that effectively conveys and furthers our mission with volunteers, donors, and a mainstream audience.

You have a solid comprehension of design standards as demonstrated through an online portfolio. You are ideal for this position because you are a talented graphic designer, you have a penchant for production work, you think outside the box, have an eye for detail, and you have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. You are a creative problem-solver with a focus on innovation and improvement, who wants to bring your passion and talents to bear in a job that creates real change.  This position reports directly to the Senior Designer.

This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires limited domestic travel, equivalent to approximately 4 trips per year.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to comprehend and work within an established design style guide to create consistent, on-brand visuals.
  • Review project briefs and requests to deliver final products that solve design problems and meet stated goals and specifications.
  • Produce a high volume of design assets for all teams across THL, which may include the following:
    • Social media graphics
    • Printed and digital promotional materials
    • Email and other web-based graphics
    • Corporate campaign support materials
  • Deliver a notable volume of production work, with the opportunity to work on more conceptual projects over time.
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with a team of designers, other Communications team members, and other THL staff members to ideate and produce creative solutions.
  • Give and receive feedback to improve final deliverables across the design team.
  • Additional design-related tasks may be assigned by the Creative Lead.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Demonstrated proficiency (through portfolio) with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Working knowledge of setting up files for print and a comprehension of ever-changing digital design standards.
  • Ability to time manage and work on multiple projects in parallel, often under tight turnarounds and with shifting priorities.
  • Experience with UX and web design principles.
  • Solid design work and comprehension of design principles, in both digital and print outlets, as exemplified through a digital portfolio.

Starting salary $43,225 or salary to commensurate with experience.
