Position Overview

The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy seeks an Events Coordinator to join the Events team. As a member of the Events team, you will actively collaborate with operations and program staff to oversee the planning and execution of Lincoln Institute events and contribute meaningfully to the operational goals of the organization. The Events team seeks to support our colleagues promptly, creatively, and effectively so that they can execute their work with maximum impact.

What You Will Do

  • Event Coordination
    • Coordinate with Program and Event staff to develop and execute internal and external events for the Lincoln Institute, including virtual and in-person activities, in collaboration with sponsoring program and other coordinating staff. This includes:
      • Ensuring all events, including conferences, workshops, webinars, and courses, are of high quality and positively reflect the Lincoln Institute brand
      • Researching, negotiating, and processing hotel, restaurant, and other vendor contracts and invoices
      • Managing registration of participants and speakers and travel (if applicable)
      • Collaborating with program and communications colleagues on event marketing and strategy
  • Stay current with event management trends and best practices, particularly event technology
  • Travel expectations: occasional weekend work and/or travel for events as needed
  • Systems Management Support
    • Manage the Institute-wide common calendar, team calendar, and calendars of the Institute’s various communities of practices
    • Manage the event data collected from touchpoints with event attendees, enter information into Salesforce
    • Manage platforms used for communication with communities of practices, for example Canvas, Google Drive, etc.
    • Assist programs with support for networks and communities of practice, including tracking member engagement, managing online workspaces and resource centers, implementing communications plans
    • Provide other operational support to the organization as directed

What You Will Need

  • 2–4 years’ experience working in the meeting planning/events industry or program management and/or equivalent experience
  • Range of experience with virtual events, including proficiency in the use of event platforms and technology such as Zoom and Formstack; experience with Salesforce or Canvas a plus
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • “Can do” and self-starter attitude
  • Ability to approach projects with creative solutions
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects with varying timelines
  • Ability to perform with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, and to meet deadlines
  • Professional and positive attitude, ability to maintain composure in a high-energy, fast-paced work environment
  • Spanish, Portuguese, or Mandarin Chinese language proficiency a plus
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
