Healthier Colorado is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to raising the voices of Coloradans in the public policy process to improve the health of our state’s residents. Position Overview

The Digital Communications Manager will be filled by a communications professional who is passionate about Healthier Colorado’s mission, committed to producing high-quality content for diverse audiences, and preferably bilingual. The Digital Communications Manager will work on a variety of activities to help the communications team adequately communicate with members, decision-makers, and the general public. This position works within the communications and advocacy team, and works closely with the policy/politics, fundraising, and local policy teams to ensure that the communications needs of Healthier Colorado’s campaigns, family of brands, and overall organizational goals are met. We’ll rely on this person to explore new tools, new communications channels, and new strategies for us to employ so that we can reach our statewide audience with compelling, targeted, and accessible messages.

Job Duties

Website, Data, and CRM Management

  • General maintenance of CRM (EveryAction), including data uploads, appropriate tagging, and data cleaning.
  • Tracking various key data points and numerical metrics in relation to Healthier Colorado’s yearly and long term goals
  • Expert knowledge of WordPress and website maintenance to keep Healthier Colorado and our “family of brands” online presence up-to-date and accessible.

Content Creation

  • Experience working with Canva, Indesign, and Photoshop to create effective and appealing content, including video editing.
  • Design and create graphics, logos, event invitations, fact sheets, videos, etc. for online and offline use.
  • Strong understanding of social media posting, social media best practices, and creating meaningful content to accompany posts.
  • Bi-lingual candidate that can communicate to our membership both in English and Spanish is preferred.

Online Activist Mobilization, Acquisition, and Marketing

  • Significant knowledge-creating content for and executing paid digital advertising through traditional media, social media, google ads, banner ads, pre-roll, geotargeting, and building strategic audiences.
  • Sending impactful emails to active, segmented membership lists.
  • Execute our online member recruitment and retention plan.
  • Analyze and optimize text message organizing strategy and tactics.

Other Media Projects

  • Undertake editing of documents and materials as assigned.
  • Lead the editing and posting process for Healthier Colorado’s monthly podcast, Wooden Teeth.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Communications and our teams to produce various external reports such as the annual report, legislative scorecard, etc.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR related experience.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience working in the political sphere, campaigns, and/or local government.
  • At least three years of experience in digital communications, digital ad creation, content development, and online organizing.
  • Experience managing multiple social media platforms with high engagement and conversions.
  • Understanding of CRM management (preferably EveryAction).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary range starts at $55,000 annually. Healthier Colorado’s office environment is relaxed and a culture of accountability which allows for significant workplace flexibility.
