Full-Time Digital Designer

Job Description: Reporting to the Creative Manager, this individual will help manage and design multiple marketing projects—maintaining our brand look and communications across multiple projects. Collaborating daily with various stakeholders, the Digital Designer will serve as the internal digital creative/design subject matter expert—establishing best practices and creative thought leadership.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Lead development and execution of digital content for display, email, social media, and website—providing innovative and standard best practices for how that content should come to life in each channel
  • Lead development and execution of digital content for ecommerce including brand shops, banners, digital ads/circulars, extended content, and A+ content for Amazon, Chewy, PetSmart, Petco and other online retailers. Manages from concepting through execution to ensure all assets are delivered to retailer specifications
  • Serve as the internal digital creative/design subject matter expert. Works with Integrated Marketing, Web, and E-Comm to provide creative ways to innovate in the digital space utilizing gifs, infographics, animation, and video—overseeing any additional content development or executional needs
  • Manages, concepts, and designs for all digital requests by reviewing project briefs, obtaining missing information, designing to meet brand standards and the project needs, reviewing art with multiple stakeholders, and managing or executing project completion under strict deadlines
  • Manages digital assets and digital asset updates with product information changes and innovations across thumbnails, product imagery, website updates, and Salsify (our commerce experience management system)
  • Work with a project management software to review incoming requests, send out project status updates, post artwork up for review, and execute projects accordingly
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of creative brand standards, champion the value of the brand to all stakeholders, and ensure the brief has been met while maintaining the brand standards and aesthetics
  • Takes direction from various stakeholders, including Creative Manager, Brand Managers, Integrated Marketing, and E-comm team and work collaboratively to integrate feedback into all creative projects

  • You’re a tactical executer. You are a digital subject matter expert and can complete or manage any digital request from conception to execution. You’re a doer who can work with minimal resources and tight deadlines. Frequent shifts in direction don’t cause stress and is simply part of the everyday process
  • You’re a project manager. You have a bias towards action even if many tasks take you away from design. You’re resourceful and can work with very little direction to find your own answers and to find solutions from various stakeholders. You understand the ins and outs of a creative brief and can obtain all the information you need to execute or for others to design by.
  • You’re an advocate for the brand. You’re passionate about growing and creating for a challenger brand in the pet category. You protect and advocate for brand standards while also presenting new and innovative ideas to push the brand forward in copy, imagery, and design.
  • You’re an excellent communicator. You’re patient and can explain complex brand/design in a simple and approachable way. You’re a strong influencer while managing a multitude of requests. You make sure each stakeholder’s opinions/feedback are considered—ensuring design is not compromised but also that the project needs are met.
Preferred Experience:
  • Portfolio preferably demonstrates proficiency in digital content development and execution. Applications submitted without a portfolio will not be reviewed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design or related field
  • 4-5 years in digital creative content development—ideally digital agency experience a plus
  • Required: Highly proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Video editing experience a plus. Photography experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and digital design including social, digital file generation, and digital marketing best practices
  • Apple/iOS
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
