Full-Time Assistant Manager, Sales Support – Contract 12 months

Job Description

Job Summary:  

Reporting to the VP, Sales, the Assistant Manager, Sales Support position will be a key member of the Retail Sales team.  In this role, you will support the HarperCollins and Harlequin sales teams (Adult, Children, Canada, Open Market, Special Sales) in maximizing revenue through the exploitation of company publishing product in various accounts.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs the flow of communications between the Harlequin publishing teams and Harper/Harlequin Sales (US and Canada). Maintains workback schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manages production and dissemination of materials for all meetings with Sales teams, including sales figures, title information and field activity. There are four (4) large meetings per season, and bi-weekly meetings with various sales teams.
  • Coordinates the galley program for all sales teams, both managing quantities, planning and executing targeted mailings, and ensuring Sales has the books they need to sell in.
  • Manages the flow of manuscripts to Sales for all Harlequin imprints.
  • Maintains a central meeting calendar that captures Sales events on the HUBB.
  • Generates model titles for all imprints seasonally (3x/yr) for all imprints and formats for sales projections.

 

Qualifications:

Specific training or job experience required includes:

  • Marketing, Business Administration or Commerce Undergraduate degree
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a sales, analysis, or publishing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with the ability to build presentation decks, schedule meetings, and managed Excel databases
