Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Chemistry

Ball State University’s Department of Chemistry is seeking an academic year full-time position for a faculty member who will teach undergraduate-level courses in general chemistry and/or laboratories.
The incumbent will be expected to contribute to the intellectual and professional life of the Department of Chemistry, the College of Sciences and Humanities, Ball State University, and the surrounding community.
The Department of Chemistry has a long history of focusing our efforts on giving our undergraduate and graduate students a high-quality learning experience in both the classroom and the laboratory settings. The university is completing construction of a new building for chemistry and biology which we will move into this summer. We incorporate problem-solving sessions into many courses, have faculty supervision in all laboratories, encourage cooperative learning, and provide numerous opportunities for both formal and informal student-faculty interactions. We take great pride in our faculty-student interactions such as our undergraduate research program.
Minimum Qualifications: An Assistant Lecturer of Chemistry requires a Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related area from an accredited institution.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications of an earned doctorate in chemistry, biochemistry, or related area from an accredited institution and teaching experience at the collegiate level (e.g. teaching assistant, instructor) will qualify as an Assistant Teaching Professor of Chemistry.
