The mission of The Center is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities for the betterment of our entire San Diego region. The Center has over 75 staff working at five facilities across San Diego County.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Housing and Youth Homeless Services, the Youth Homeless Services Manager is responsible for overseeing, managing, and coordinating the delivery of services to transitional-aged youth participating in The Center’s TAY Homeless Outreach and Housing Our Youth Programs. In this role, the manager will ensure that services enhance the well-being of LGBTQ TAY in San Diego County and supervise a growing staff team.

 

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing oversight to ensure high-quality delivery of program services, achievement of program performance measures, and that program data quality goals are met
  • Managing hiring of program staff and providing staff supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Managing all program-related monitoring visits, submitting required reports, and performing internal program audits
  • Responding to critical incidents, providing support to staff and clients, ensuring that appropriate steps are taken to respond in such incidents, prioritizing the safety of all staff and clients
  • Maintaining collaborative relationships with external partners and actively seeking opportunities to expand the resource network

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Professional experience: 3-5 years of management experience, including staff supervision; 2 years in a role serving youth ages 18-24 years old; 1 year in a role serving persons who have experienced housing instability

Professional Skills: Teamwork and collaboration; Leadership and delegation; Emotional intelligence and communication; Time management and task prioritization; Optimism and having a growth mindset

Technical Skills: Microsoft software proficiency-Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook

Language Skills: English

Other Qualifications: Valid CA driver’s license, relevant car insurance, and personal vehicle to drive for job-related tasks

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field is preferred

Professional Experience: 1 year in a direct-service role serving LGBTQ youth who have experienced housing instability

Professional Skills: Data analysis; Public speaking

Technical Skills: Homeless Management Information Systems proficiency- Clarity, Case Management Systems proficiency- ETO and Apricot

Language Skills: Spanish

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Compensation: The pay range for this position is $28.00 to $29.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience. This is a Full-Time, Regular, Non-Exempt
