Would you like help others improve flexibility, strength, endurance, and cardiovascular conditioning by instructing water fitness classes? As a Water Aerobics Instructor, you will create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement as you teach water fitness classes.

If hired for this position, you will actively teach water fitness classes, give clear directions, cues and demonstrations. You will prepare lesson plans designed to effectively use the properties of water to achieve the components of fitness. You will safely design and instruct water fitness classes for a variety of skill levels in accordance with YMCA guidelines.

Are you a good fit?

  • I have six months or more of related experience.
  • I have previous experience working with adults and diverse populations.
  • I am able to demonstrate water fitness skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • I am confident in the water.
  • I have current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications (preferred).
  • Able to complete Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other online or in-person training as required.

Starting Rate: $14.49+ per hour – Depending on experience

Hours:  Part Time – Up to 25 hours per week
