Full-Time Visiting Clinical Research Specialist

Job Description

Position Summary
This position coordinates timely handling of components of clinical research protocols, including pre- and post-research activities. Responsible for the implementation and conduct of multiple research projects of all clinical phases, including compliance. Additional responsibilities include activation and maintenance of various clinical protocols including review and completion of submissions, amendments, and adverse event reports as required by the UIC Institutional Review Board, Protocol Review Committee and sponsors; act as a liaison between physicians, clinical staff and UIC IRB office, sponsors, and regulatory agencies. Assist and help with additional division research projects/duties as requested.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research
  • – Coordinate the activation and maintenance of clinical trial agreemements and clinical protocols, including review and completion of submissions, amendments, and adverse event reports as required by the UIC Institutional Review Board (IRB), Protocol Review Committee and grant sponsors.
  • – Act as liaison between physicians, clinical staff and the UIC IRB office, grant sponsors and regulatory agencies to ensure priorities are clearly communicated and resources are allocated appropriately across multiple ongoing projects.
  • – Ensure that participant enrollment and research activities comply with established protocols, regulatory and monitoring agency standards, and grant sponsor guidelines.
  • – Collect and review client evaluations/assessments, surveys, and participant interviews to develop reports for the PI and appropriate agencies and grant sponsors. Evaluate data to determine project effectiveness.
  • – Order study supplies and maintain inventories.
  • Communication
  • – Maintain detailed records of results and prepare written reports.
  • – Maintain and process required paperwork.
  • – Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Master’s degree in social science preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
  • Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods
