AU aims to empower professional athletes as leaders in their sport; promote inclusive ownership in professional sports that focuses on the long-term financial and personal well-being of athletes; and bring fans closer to the game by innovating on and off the field to maximize engagement and excitement for a global community of fans.

Athletes Unlimited is seeking a senior-level staff member specifically dedicated to ensuring that our mission is reflected in all aspects of the organization’s operations. The Vice President of Impact (VP) will work with colleagues across the organization to make sure that the mission is reflected in workstreams throughout the company, and will also oversee specific mission-related programming. The VP role will encompass functions that may be found in other organizations under Social Impact, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Community Relations, and Sustainability.

  3. Develop, update, and support the implementation of AU policies on pregnancy and paid leave, child care, transgender and non-binary athletes, and environmental sustainability. Identify external subject matter experts to work with on a consulting basis as needed.
  4. Work with Operations and HR staff on implementation of trainings for staff on issues related to diversity, equity, and belonging
  5. Consult with and support the PECs to address issues of interest related to impact and mission.

5. Assist in determining AU public positions on current events and timely issues that relate to the organization’s mission or that are of concern to the broader AU community.

6. Work with teams across the organization to ensure consideration of mission perspective throughout AU operations. Examples include:

  1. Work with Directors of Sport to develop youth initiatives and partnerships that address issues of inclusion and access (overlaps with REWG)
  2. Work with Content, Communications, Athlete Experience, and Fan Experience teams to ensure that mission-related content is embedded in all workplans
  3. Work with Operations and HR staff to develop policies and training related to harassment, inclusion, and mental health
  4. Work with relevant staff to help implement AU’s commitment to environmental sustainability and carbon-neutral practices
  5. Develop and execute corporate partnerships that advance the visibility and impact of AU’s mission-related work

7. Work closely with the CEO on public relations and communications strategy, specifically as relates to increasing the visibility and brand awareness of AU as a mission-driven company. This will also involve working with the Creative Director on key language, branding, and creative assets.
