Full-Time Vice President, Content Partnerships

Job Description

Univision is seeking a talented executive that will be responsible for maintaining a strong and diverse pipeline of content opportunities. The role will lead the sourcing, negotiating and executing of content licensing while leveraging established industry relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the content acquisition strategy with emphasis on pipeline development and value proposition that accomplishes key KPIs including audience acquisition, retention and growth.

  • Create new opportunities to acquire high profile content that are unique.

  • Evaluate content for potential acquisition in a timely basis.

  • Negotiate license fees and terms with studios, independent distributors, and sales agents.

  • Review contracts to ensure they reflect agreed-upon terms.

  • Work in collaboration with the content strategy team to define the content acquisitions needs.

  • Work closely with the content operations team to monitor delivery and ingestion process.

  • Manage the content partnership team by establishing key performance metrics.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum 15 years of programming acquisitions management experience in television programming, cable network, MVPD or multi-faceted digital background.

  • Expertise in leveraging data and analytics to inform acquisitions strategies.

  • Established relationships with major distributors players.

  • Extensive knowledge of film genres, directors, talent, production value, quality, “playability” and the market for independent and library films.

  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of market license fees and related deal terms.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously handle a large number of distributor accounts.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Proactive and self-sufficient with extensive experience in content partnerships.

  • Expertise in program acquisitions across multiple genres among all demos.

  • Proven ability to create results and expertise in the US Hispanic market.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas.

  • Must be able to excel in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)

  • Must be willing to work from office in New York, NY or Miami, FL
