About Your Role

RealtyMogul is seeking an exceptional and experienced leader to help grow our Limited Partner (“LP”) Equity and Preferred Equity business.  RealtyMogul has already backed 70 operating partners with plans to back hundreds more.  Your role will be to help us manage new investments from existing clients and expand our existing base of operating partners.  You will source and evaluate investment opportunities from these partners for the RealtyMogul platform and our family of Real Estate Investment Trusts (“REITs”). Your impact will be immediate and critical to successfully scaling RealtyMogul as the leading online real estate investment platform.

This role is remote, United States.

Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage existing relationships to ensure RealtyMogul is top of mind as their capital partner for future transactions
  • Truly understand the customer’s needs, building new relationships with commercial real estate companies who need limited partner equity or preferred equity to capitalize their transactions
  • Review sponsor offering materials and financial models, asserting sound judgement to determine if the deal warrants more analysis and is a fit for the RealtyMogul platform
  • Thoroughly analyze investment opportunities including review of the property, location, comps, capital stack structure and sponsor experience to ensure the transaction is an acceptable risk adjusted return for RealtyMogul investors
  • Build financial models from scratch to independently assess the potential financial outcomes of an investment
  • Present transactions to RealtyMogul investment committee including financial strengths and weaknesses, risk assessments, strength of sponsor/guarantors, collateral, and deal structures
  • Work cross-functionally internally to drive great outcomes for our partners, partnering with marketing, operations, legal, accounting and asset management to ensure sponsors raise their desired capital
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to negotiate legal documentation including term sheets, operating agreements, and subscription agreements
  • Be an exceptional manager.  Lead, coach and provide feedback to Associates/Analysts.  Truly care about your team members well-being and support them to attract and retain top-tier talent

 Who You Are:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated business development/private equity real estate experience working on real estate transactions
  • Substantial experience analyzing investments, reviewing and building financial models and exerting judgement
  • Comfortable negotiating term sheets and operating agreements in the spirit of building long term relationships with clients
  • Professionally persistent and have grace and composure under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment where iteration is the norm
  • Experience with multiple commercial real estate asset classes a plus
