JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION Responsible for design and support of the user interface to optimize an engaging user experience for a variety of applications. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Collaborate with other teams to gather requirements, create visualization concepts, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes for clients.
- Design front-end user interfaces for Web-based or other software products, including mobile and desktop devices.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product management, development, and customers to iterate from requirements through to developed functionality
- Define behaviors and functionality for current and future software applications using design specifications.
- Develops process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate high-level design strategies.
- Study how users feel about a system, evaluate perceptions of: ease of use, value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks, etc.
- May assist with new user interface testing and participate in usability reviews.
- Translate user needs and business requirements into features and functionality for web/mobile experiences.
- Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Experience with rapid prototyping
- Knowledge of relevant standards and best practices for design of modern, data-rich, and responsive applications
- Demonstrated skill of taking in complex data and designing UI/UX innovative data visualization to drive deeper insights
- Experience designing well-adopted software products on both mobile and desktop platforms
- Remain current on user interface trends and programming techniques and suggest new tools and methods as necessary
- Proficient in design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
- Understanding of web technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Ability to communicate with non-designers and developers to find the middle ground
- Ability to prioritize and support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry (Origination/Secondary) is a plus
UI/UX Designer I Entry-level professional role into the job family. Ability to design, architect and quickly complete projects under general supervision and direction. May assist with new user interface testing and participate in usability reviews. May be responsible for usability research and design in the absence of dedicated usability team members. Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. Typically requires up to three (3) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
