Part-Time Therapist I or II (Respite)

Job Description

Purpose: 

To assist people with mental illnesses, including those in dual recovery, in obtaining optimal functioning and quality of life, by providing clinical services and education.

Job Summary: 

Develop and carry out a consistent plan of treatment, from intake and assessment to closure.

Essential Functions:

  • Guided by 27-65 requirements and best clinical practices, provides individual and group psychotherapy and teaches psychoeducation
  • Documents provision of services, assessments, evaluations and treatment goals and plan consistent with clinical and administrative policies and procedures
  • Provides a variety of case management services, including managing Social Security payeeships, assisting clients to apply for various types of public assistance and providing supporting documentation, attending multi-agency clinical case consultations, and facilitating referrals to other organizations
  • Participates in internal consultation and supervision with team members and other professionals in the organization
  • Collaborate with clients, other treatment team members, DHHS, doctors, hospitals, medical clinics, housing programs, etc. to provide the best service to the clients
  • Provides external consultation and referrals to other organizations
  • Maintains contact with clients in distress, including assisting with hospitalization
  • Participates in multidisciplinary focus groups, committees, and task forces charged with researching and improving clinical practices and developing or updating programs and business processes
  • Provides clinical services required by special programs and projects
  • Meets defined individual and department goals, activity metrics and Key Performance Indicators
  • Promotes, supports and demonstrates MHP’s mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adheres to policies, procedures, Compliance plan and Standards of Conduct on a day to day basis
  • Effectively interacts and communicates with other MHP staff/clients/
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform other essential functions of the job
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills & Other Requirements
Education/Experience/License/Certification

  • Training in CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy preferred

Therapist I:

  • Masters in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field plus 1 to 2-year internship and 0 – 1 year prior experience in a clinical setting
  • Must be license eligible and actively working toward licensure Licensed PhD or PsyD, Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT)

Therapist II:

  • Masters in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field plus 1 to 2-year internship and 3-7 years prior experience in a clinical setting OR: Related PhD or PsyD plus zero to three years prior experience in a clinical setting
  • Licensed PhD or PsyD, Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT) required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to meet direct service expectations and to complete documentation within required timeframes
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

Respite:

  • Provide time limited mental health and substance use disorder treatment to individuals who are in crisis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to assist participants in the Respite program.
  • Follow all guidelines and documentation requirements of the CCC-Respite program.
  • Able to do assessments and consultation with CIS and W/M concerning potential referrals to the program.
  • Ability to provide coverage to the full Warner House building as needed.

Working Environment

  • General office environment
  • Must be able to work in a shared office space with frequent interruptions
  • May include working with people in acute distress or crisis
  • May require travel to several MHP sites throughout Boulder and Broomfield counties to attend meetings
