Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Mechatronics Technology Instructor whose primary teaching duties would include providing engaging presentations, dynamic lab equipment demonstrations, providing students with industrial automation hands-on experience, and helping to build student confidence and life-long learning habits. Department and college service work is expected with this position (as assigned by the division or college) to support the institutional mission and goals, foremost being diversity, equity and inclusion, and student success and retention. The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of instructors to fulfill the needs of a growing department. This tenure-track position begins September 8, 2022.

Faculty Responsibilities
• Instruct all classes as an expert in the discipline using active learning approaches that facilitate student learning.
• Advise and assist students in their educational and career development.

• Obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification requirements.
• Participate in program, curriculum development and assessment activities.

• Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and
socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to assume a leadership role within the department (administrative duties,
faculty supervision and student advising).
• Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

• Associate of Applied Technology degree in Mechatronics, Manufacturing or closely related field and five (5) years of industry related experience OR ten (10) years of industry related experience
Vaccination requirement: Per Washington State Proclamation 21-14.1: college employees must be fully vaccinated. Your COVID-19 vaccine status must be validated by the Human Resources office prior to the commencement of work. • Demonstrated work experience in at least one of the three key areas listed below:
o Industrial Three-Phase Electric Motor Control Systems Installation, Troubleshooting and Repair
o Mechanical Power Transmission Systems Installation, Troubleshooting and Repair
o Robotics Control Systems Interfacing, Installation, Troubleshooting and Repair

Salary Statement
• Starting salary is $64,871 (non-negotiable). Faculty may be eligible to advance every other year; current top step is $91,378. During the 2022-2023 academic year, this position will receive a 6.38% high demand salary increase. Please note the salary will be adjusted for the 2022-2023 year to reflect the legislatively funded cost-of-living increase.
• Salary is for a 173-day contract; additional compensation is available for summer and moonlight teaching, and doctoral and vocational stipends.
