Full-Time Technology Manager

Job Description

SUMMARY

We have an incredible new opportunity for an experienced technology professional to join our iTeam focused on Program Management and Solutions implementation.  The Technology Manager will have a large sphere of influence nationally in our organization and will be responsible for acting as the lead liaison between outside Technology service vendors and internal teams to implement new software solutions to our existing IT environment.

Additionally, the Technology Manager will assess IT and resource requirements, track solutions delivery, create and maintain accurate high-level IT solutions reporting, and complete User Acceptance / Unit Testing.  Collaborating with our IT Managed Service provider, the Technology Manager will also will work to provide advanced desktop support on a variety of issues to local and remote users when necessary.  The geographic areas of responsibilities are New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Washington, DC

The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, technically minded and a forward thinking IT Manager.  A person who enjoys solving complex IT and cloud based solutions issues, and has good interpersonal communications skills to interact with multiple external vendors, internal organization leaders and a national user community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Technology Manager plays a leadership role in helping our team to work smarter and not harder by infusing technology into our processes.
  • Acts as a Program Manager and Implementation Manager to track organization wide technology needs and solutions delivery from concept to delivery.
  • Serves as a liaison between IT and other supported departments within Lambda to provide needs assessment and subsequent design, development, delivery, and maintenance of technology solutions.
  • Responsible for providing desktop support to end users (locally and remote when necessary) and working with our contracted Managed Service Provider in investigating / resolving applications, operating systems, and any other technology related errors in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain all video conferencing equipment and the quality of the audio / visual experience. Works to repair video conferencing tools, mobile phone activations and hardware complications.
  • Assists with provisioning and deprovisioning processing, including setting up of hardware/software for new hires, and receiving hardware from separating employees.
  • Assesses resource requirements of technology projects and recommends to the COO if varying projects should be staffed internally or outsourced.
  • Completes in-depth analysis of possible IT Solutions, completing cost benefit analysis, and recommended new solutions to the COO and Lambda Legal Technology Committee.
  • Researches and implements technological strategic solutions.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results of service providers.
  • Initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment.
  • Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Determines technological research into future technologies by aligning organization goals, strategies, practices, and user requirements.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating the organization outcomes.
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and IT service providers.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent technology field.
  • Five or more years of IT work experience. Preferably 5+ years of IT Program and Solutions Implementation Management experience preferably supporting an Enterprise IT Program.
  • TIL certification, LEAN certification, project management skills and prior use of ITSM software tools to process customer requests is a plus, but not required.
  • Optional product or system certification.

Information Technology Manager Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience with cybersecurity and digital security risks across a geographically distributed organization.
  • Experience with vendor management including drafting of RFPs, planning and budgeting.
  • Experience implementing or developing an effective IT strategy.
  • Highly organized with excellent time and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and prioritizing competing demands.
  • Resourceful, proactive problem solver, self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships remotely.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a diverse and geographically distributed organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work creatively in a problem-solving environment.

This position requires some regional travel; travel percentage of 10%.

SALARY

Salary is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.  The salary range begins at $79,000. Competitive benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, employer contributions to retirement account, and substantial vacation.
