JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Responsible for gathering data from multiple sources to create metadata content. Collaborates with business partners, clients, and customers to determine data requirements and develop content. Ensures all data is accurately conveyed in an appropriate format.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mines complex COBOL, CICS, and JCL to extract metadata.
  • Researches, collects, analyzes, and formats metadata for extraction, transformation, and loading into an Oracle database.
  • Reviews database content for accuracy.
  • Collaborates with product managers, subject-matter experts, application development teams, business analysts, management, and others as needed.
  • Participates in tool development such as design recommendations of functionality.
  • Participates in tool development test activities such as reviewing test results and directing further development.
  • May mentor or guide work of less experienced staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Black Knight products, services and capabilities preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL and data extraction techniques
  • Experience working with mainframe technologies and tools such as TSO, COBOL, CICS, JCL
  • Experience working with IBM Developer for z Systems (IDz) a plus
  • Experience with MS Excel and Access
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple assignments with little direction
  • Ability to work independently but also be team player with all levels within the organization
  • Knowledge of information mapping concepts a plus
  • Familiarity with Agile best practices
  • Experience with Azure DevOps a plus
  • Experience with automated testing a plus
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of BKI MSP FM functionality a plus
  • Knowledge of IBM Assembler language a plus

Expert professional level role. Requires expert knowledge and proficiency in data extraction and reporting techniques and in the use of database and report-writing tools and platforms. Designs, develops and supports database reports of high complexity and high risk within a broad technical and/or business context of significant or strategic impact. Works on varied, highly complex projects that require expertise in multiple technical environments and specific business area(s). Recognized as an expert internally and often provides strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services. Works on multiple projects as a project team member or often as a project lead. May coach and/or mentor more junior technical staff. Typically requires ten (10) or more years of related work experience in DBMS support and/or analysis, software application development, or report writing using appropriate tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Crystal Reports, etc.) and six (6) or more years of work experience designing and creating highly complex database reports.

Although target pay range may vary by work location, a representative pay range is $72,800 – $99,840. Eligible to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance and disability insurance, 401(k) plan and employee stock purchase plan. Eligible to participate in the discretionary annual performance bonus.
