Full-Time Team Manager – Housing Service (London)

Job Description

Service Delivery & Operational Standards:

  1. To coordinate a small team to provide time limited and focused support to people sleeping rough in London, improving their readiness for drug and alcohol treatment.
  2. To develop and implement effective referral and assessment pathways and manage referrals into the service, providing a timely response to referrers in line with local procedures.
  3. To recruit, manage and develop a pool of volunteer workers to enhance service delivery.
  4. To provide case management support, ensuring that approaches and interventions are appropriate, innovative, and meet the needs of the people we work with, that engagement is time limited and focused, and that we are not duplicating the work of other agencies.
  5. Carry a small caseload from time to time to ensure effective service delivery.
  6. Ensure ongoing and dynamic assessment and management of risk, doubling up with colleagues where needed to support safe working.
  7. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies through participation in borough forums, proactive networking, and a professional, friendly approach.
  8. Record work and collate relevant information and data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. Participate in evaluation exercises and processes.
  9. Manage and allocate referrals received by the service.
  10. Oversee the distribution of petty cash, adhering to the associated policy.
  11. Perform as a full team member, supporting colleagues and being open to reasonable requests from line management to ensure effective working relationships.
  12. Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
  13. Contribute to service development.
  14. Observe professional standards of good practice and fulfil duty of care.
  15. Adhere to Phoenix Futures policy, procedures, and protocol, including Code of Conduct.
  16. Actively manage diversity and promote equality and people’s rights in all aspects of service delivery.

General

  1. Understand, uphold, and work in line with the values, ethos, aims and objectives of Phoenix Futures.
  2. Promote and uphold the rights of the people we work with, seek feedback, and ensure their ability to feed into service delivery and improvements.
  3. As Deputy Safeguarding Lead ensure that the team adheres to safeguarding legislation and Phoenix Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Children and Young People policies and procedures.
  4. Prepare for and participate in supervisions and reflective practice sessions.
  5. Seek to improve personal performance, contribution, knowledge, and skills.
  6. Provide written reports as required by the organisation, your manager, or commissioning team.
  7. Work flexibly to maintain effective service provision, including occasional late or weekend working.
  8. Undertake such duties as reasonably requested by your manager.
