We are currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work as a partner and consultant with an assigned portfolio to implement staffing initiatives that support the organization’s strategic objectives. As a customer-oriented recruitment professional, you will work collaboratively with operational leaders to develop customized recruitment plans and strategies to fill various vacancies across the organization, managing the full recruitment cycle to ensure hiring procedures adhere to SickKids policies, Collective Agreements, as well as Employment and Human Rights legislation with the support of the Manager of Talent Acquisition & Onboarding. You will also have the opportunity to learn and contribute to broader HR related projects and initiatives.

Here’s What You’ll Get To Do
- Partner with hiring managers and business leaders, working closely with them to maximize the effectiveness of the recruitment process
- Ensure that recruitment activities are aligned with and support the organization’s strategic objectives and are consistent with current industry best practices
- Keep abreast with innovative technologies and recruitment/selection methods to ensure the organization has strong candidate choice and is able to attract and secure exceptional talent
- Continually monitor the recruitment process to recommend business process improvements intended to ensure we are efficient, effective, and are meeting client needs/expectations
- Act as a subject matter expert on recruitment strategies, best practices, and recruitment-related policies and procedures, both for clients and as resources for HR colleagues
- Lead and/or participate on recruitment- and HR-related projects and initiatives as required
- Track and report on relevant recruiting metrics to assess effectiveness of recruiting programs and identify areas for improvement
- Work collaboratively with internal HR colleagues to provide excellent results both in Talent Acquisition and Human Resources overall
- Contribute to innovation and share your ideas on how to drive excellence
Here’s What You’ll Need
- University degree, and completion of a recognized post-secondary Human Resources program or equivalent experience
- CHRP designation is an asset
- 3-5 years of progressive recruitment experience with a specialization in talent acquisition; healthcare recruitment experience would be considered a definite asset
- Ability to meet uncompromising deadlines and hiring targets, as well as a proven track record of successful decisions relating to hiring and selection
- Ability to develop and implement successful recruitment plans
- Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
- Ability to leverage network for sourcing passive candidates is an asset
- Strong client service orientation
- Collaborative approach with an interest in learning and making an impact
- Ability to work with clients to develop situational, behavioural, and technical questions and selection methods
- Collaborative, proactive and possess a sense of urgency
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to influence and motivate others to maintain timelines and targeted outcomes
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and in depth knowledge of data mining and internet research
