We are looking for a talented Systems Reliability Engineering Technial Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Emission Solutions Business Unit in Columbus, IN / your remote home office. Candidate should be able to report to Columbus office as deemed necessary.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Product Failure Reporting and Corrective/Preventive Action Systems – Defines and leads a process to record, prioritize, and resolve product failures
Product Failure Mode Avoidance – Mitigates potential product failure modes utilizing tools like DFMEA by prioritizing potential failure modes and potential failure causes for the system of interest to effectively and efficiently improve the reliability of Cummins’ products.
Product Problem Solving – Solves product problems using a process determines the assignable cause; and identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.
Product Reliability and Reliability Risk Management – Plans and manages critical reliability activities during new product development by preventing and detecting failures. Evaluates key technical and program measures to assess the launch readiness of a new product using prescribed indicators.
Quantitative Reliability Analysis – Analyzes failure data from existing and/or new products by establishing failure rate models; as well as develops system level reliability test plan by considering schedule, number of units, applications, noises, and locations to find unknown failure modes to improve reliability.
• Communicates effectively, builds networks, provides resourcefulness and manages complexity

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required. Post-graduate (Master’s) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles
• Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred
• Ability to drive an appropriate level of constructive cross-functional conflict and collaboration into new product development programs

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
