Full-Time System General Manager

Sparklight, a member of the Cable One family of brands, is expanding its footprint into the Fargo, ND market and is looking for a committed, proactive, helpful System General Manager. In this role, you have overall management of Fargo, ND including community and government relations, operations, maintenance, and associate engagement and development.  You will ensure optimal customer satisfaction, profitability, and smooth operations of assigned areas.  As System General Manager, you will also be involved in all aspects of the deployment, growth, and operations of all cable services and products for residential and business customers.

What you will do to contribute to the company’s success

Takes on all duties needed to help drive our Purpose and follow our Values and Basic Principles.

Plans, directs, and coordinates the management of a cable system or multiple cable systems.

Represents system in community affairs, including participation in civic organizations and community events.

Engages with community leadership, local franchise authorities, and state and federal officials, developing and maintaining positive relationships.

Maintains full awareness of the competitive footprint, including initiatives and offers; Analyzes and reports on data, recommending competitive response to any potential and existing competitors.

Increases and maintains system customer satisfaction by facilitating processes to exceed standards in plant health, customer service, and technical operations.

Analyzes, plans, executes, and revises system activities and marketing in order to maximize subscriber and cash flow growth while minimizing capital and operating expenses.

Provides quality coaching, development, delegation, leadership and direction to a high performing team. Cultivates, pursues and promotes a culture of continued excellence through individual and team growth.

Ensures high levels of associate satisfaction with periodic feedback sessions and actively engaging in associate relations, training, development, and accountability.

Creates and monitors accurate operating and capital budgets for the system. Assumes P&L responsibility.

Measures and analyzes key performance trends; develops action plans to address opportunities for improvement and operating efficiencies, along with actively participating in the implementation of these initiatives.

Promotes and ensures engagement in company-wide initiatives, such as safety programs, inclusion and diversity efforts, and compliance-related training.

Manages projects that drive improved customer experience, process improvement, and cost reduction throughout the full customer lifecycle, including deploying and executing identified deliverables

Qualifications

Associate degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Equivalent experience in a managerial role for a cable system may substitute for education requirement.

A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in telecommunications or related industry, ideally in a managerial role for a cable system or large department.

Experience with both technical operations and customer operations ideal.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple projects and tasks effectively.

Proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.

Knowledge of marketing and competitive strategies.

Inspirational leadership skills with proven ability to drive engagement and associate satisfaction.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with exceptional listening skills.

Successful track record in managing budgets and/ or P&L responsibility.

Ability to utilize and analyze metrics and data.

Strong problem analysis, decision-making and problem resolution skills.

Demonstrated ability to create and maintain highly effective teams.

Up to 15% domestic travel.

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
