Would you like to share your passion for aquatics with others? Would you like to coach beginning to advanced swimmers? As a Swim Coach, you will instruct in beginning to advanced swimming and safety skills according to age group and class swim level, according to YMCA Competitive Swimming guidelines.

If hired for this position you will prepare class lesson plans with a natural progression of appropriate skills for the abilities and ages of the swimmers. You will conduct swimming practices utilizing proper stroke techniques. You will also communicate with parents and keep accurate records of attendance and skill progression. At the Y, you have the opportunity to change the lives of those in your community.

Starting Wage: $14.49+ per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part Time – Up to 25 hours per week

Are you a good fit? You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
You have one to two years related experience (preferred).You have previous experience working with youth preferably in a program setting and diverse populations.
You have an active recreational coaching style.
You are able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
You have experience and knowledge in coaching swim team (preferred).You are able to coach and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
You love being in the water.Preferred certifications: YMCA Lifeguard and Principles of Competitive Swimming and Diving certification.
