Study Programme Lead – Business  

£31,950 – £41,395 per annum, dependent on level of teaching qualification  

37 hours per week 

The working pattern is Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours per day, Friday 7 hours per day 

52 weeks per annum 

Abingdon Campus 

Permanent 

Start date TBC 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our team of lecturers as a Study Programme Lead in the multiple award-winning faculty of Public and Professional Industries (PPI) at Abingdon & Witney College.

Applications are invited from innovative, and flexible Lecturers. Teaching will be predominantly Business modules (Levels 1, 2 and 3) to students 16-18 years of age on BTEC and T-Level programmes. The Study Programme Lead will be responsible for overseeing the performance and tutorial of Business courses, as well as developing and inspiring the curriculum area.  

Experience of teaching in Further Education to this age group is desirable but consideration will be given to a suitable candidate looking to move from industry into teaching. Support and the opportunity to complete teacher training will be offered in this case.

The successful candidate will join an experienced and collaborative team of staff in a large faculty which also includes Sport and Public Services, Health & Social Care and Hair & Beauty.

Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college. 

This role may be eligible for the ‘Taking Teaching Further (TTF)’ programme, which supports professionals as they move into teaching in the further education sector. Support from the TTF programme can include an initial reduction in teaching workload and enrolment onto teacher training.
