OSU Ecampus is seeking a student engagement program manager to join our student success team!

About the position:
Through an approach grounded in fostering belonging and building community, the Ecampus student engagement program manager directs programs and initiatives related to the engagement and retention of all Ecampus students. This position will be responsible for the development, management, and evaluation of existing and new initiatives in support of BIPOC students, first-generation college students, and other underrepresented populations. The student engagement program manager will work with the director of student success and other Ecampus staff who support aspects of student services, advising, recruitment, and student engagement as well as internal partners in the division of Student Affairs and throughout Oregon State University to expand access to existing programming and develop new programming aligned with the mission of the Ecampus Student Success Team (SST). This position will also work with external partners, such as Tribal communities and professional organizations, to enhance online student engagement.

The student engagement program manager will take on a leadership role in coordinating and expanding the Ecampus Tribal Communities Initiative. Additionally, they will engage in the exploration and launch of similar initiatives to serve other underrepresented groups in collaboration with other units at Oregon State.

Job duties include:

  • Conduct outreach and collaborate with Student Affairs units to more actively engage and include Ecampus students in university programming
  • Coordinate the Ecampus Tribal Communities Initiative, working with partners from the Office of Admissions, Kaku-Ixt Mana Ina Haws, Office of Institutional Diversity, and other faculty and staff working with Indigenous populations
  • Plan, coordinate, and administer events, workshops, and programs for Ecampus students
  • Advocate for equitable access to university resources for Ecampus students
  • Meet with students as needed and refer them to student services, success coaching, or other valuable resources
  • Manage budget related to enrichment and engagement programming
  • Monitor and maintain compliance and adherence to university policy or state/federal regulations
  • Join the SST data team to explore, analyze, and assess data trends related to the success of Ecampus students
  • Assess effectiveness of enrichment programming in addressing Ecampus student satisfaction, engagement, retention, and graduation
  • Track and monitor data related to underrepresented Ecampus populations
  • Participate in intentional professional development opportunities

Required qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  •  3 – 5 years of professional experience supporting students in higher education
  •  A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills implemented in person, over the phone, through email and in virtual meeting environments
  •  Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals and partners both on and off campus
  •  Ability to synthesize data and clearly present it to executive level

Preferred qualifications:

  •  Master’s degree in communications, education, management, counseling or related field
  •  Experience designing, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to make informed recommendations
  •  Professional experience supporting online and/or adult learners
  •  Professional experience advancing success of underrepresented student populations
  •  Experience working with Indigenous and Tribal communities (professional, volunteer, etc.)
  •  Demonstrated ability to plan events and coordinate programming
