Full-Time Strategic Sourcing Manager

Job Description

Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM) is responsible for managing activities in support of Accuray’s long-term Supply Chain, Sourcing, new product development strategies. The Strategic Sourcing Manager facilitates efforts for supplier selection and management of the approved supplier list (ASL) to ensure the uninterrupted flow of high-quality, cost-competitive goods and services to support both manufacturing and customer support operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and development of a strategic plan for assigned  Categories and associated suppliers aligned with company’s Supply Chain goals and objectives for cost, quality, delivery, risk, Long Term Agreements (LTAs), safety, change management, and New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Develops off-shore supply base by identifying, evaluating, and selecting second source suppliers.
  • Creates focus and execution excellence specific to cost reduction projects without sacrificing quality. Works with assigned supply base to forecast material costs and develops standard cost lists
  • Monitor suppliers’ activities to assess performance in meeting quality or delivery requirements. Develops performance metrics for assigned suppliers and works with cross-functional teams to manage supplier performance
  • Develop and Implement contract negotiation strategy for assigned suppliers. Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers. Facilitates negotiations of supply agreement with assigned suppliers.
  • Defines, classifies, and manages supplier segmentation for Accuray’s Approved Supplier List (ASL). Develops and manages risk mitigation strategies for critical suppliers on Accuray’s ASL. Assists in the timely resolution of safety and quality issues raised by customers or staff
  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws such as Sunshine Act, RoHS, REACH & Conflict Minerals reporting
  • Supports Accuray’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs by performing quality audits, driving continuous improvement, ensuring effective change management through ECO effectiveness and change control

Qualifications:

a. Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in a supply chain role.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing best practices in global sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance programs (ISO, FDA) and quality systems regulations, ERP systems and their manufacturing related processes, and production floor process flows.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including proven experience in use of problem-solving models.
  • In-depth negotiation experience and the ability to meet cost targets.
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships with Product Development and NPI teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and teamwork skills.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25%.

b. Preferred or Desired

  • Master of Business Administration or another advanced degree, especially Engineering.
  • Experience in Electrical and Electronics Categories is a plus
