The Position:
Fast Forward is seeking a talented fundraiser and partnerships manager to join us on our mission of supporting a diverse group of entrepreneurs who are applying the best technology to our biggest social challenges.

In this role you will serve as a bridge between the tech and social sector, playing an integral role in harnessing the power of Fast Forward’s extensive tech for good network to support tech nonprofit startups with the resources they need to scale their impact. As a natural connector, you love building relationships and are excited to build out win-win programming alongside Fast Forward’s partners.

The Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing a creative fundraising and partnership strategy that deepens Fast Forward’s relationships with funding partners and opens the door to new opportunities for Fast Forward and tech nonprofits. This hands-on position offers the unique opportunity to shape all aspects of Fast Forward’s partner engagements.

The Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising Lead will work closely with Fast Forward’s Executive Director and our small, tight-knit team of passionate doers and problem solvers to drive impact.

Primary Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Business Development
– Define and execute on organizational fundraising strategy based on Fast Forward’s annual fundraising targets
– Generate and manage a pipeline of prospective funder prospects and build relationships with potential funding partners
– Pitch and close both new and returning Fast Forward partners
– Execute day-to-day fundraising efforts, including partnership proposals, grant applications, and CRM database maintenance
– Facilitate introductions between all-star tech nonprofits and Fast Forward’s funder network to unlock follow-on funding for tech nonprofits
– Represent Fast Forward by attending and participating in external meetings and events (both virtually and in-person, post COVID safety restrictions)
– Manage Fast Forward’s Strategic Partnerships Associate

Partner Management
– Serve as point person for Fast Forward’s funding partners and work with them to co-create employee engagement opportunities that embed tech nonprofits into their social impact strategies
– Cultivate relationships with key contacts at each partner institution
– Execute on partnership deliverables and engage partners’ employees, products, executives and/or capital in Fast Forward programming alongside Fast Forward’s Program Manager
– Stay top of mind with partners by initiating regular touchpoints, including keeping them in the loop with relevant press mentions, impact updates, and Fast Forward product or program milestones
– Write and deliver annual and biannual grant reports to funding partners

Candidate Requirements:
– 3-7 years of relevant experience in fundraising, business development, or sales, or a track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse set of partners
– Exceptional customer service orientation: anticipate and respond promptly and professionally to requests and needs from all key stakeholders, setting clear expectations while taking other perspectives into account
– Proven comfort working in a fast-paced startup work environment; must be flexible, adaptable, and organized
– Exemplary communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, including experience addressing different types of audiences
– Strategic thinker and solutions oriented
– Excellent project and process management skills and attention to detail
– A passion for championing nonprofit tech startups and a diverse array of social entrepreneurs, as well as a strong commitment to Fast Forward’s mission

This position will be based in San Francisco once it is safe to return to the office (Fast Forward employees are currently working remotely).
