Full-Time Sr. Enterprise Architect – Platform Reengineering

Job Description

LOCATION: This job is fully remote eligible within the United States. If located in Jacksonville, FL some onsite may be required.


Responsible for defining architectural reengineer of enterprise monolithic solutions to enterprise Cloud Native solutions. Responsible for leading and producing the IT strategic technology direction and defining and communicating the architecture standards, guidelines, and statements of direction with guidance from senior architects as appropriate by facilitating the design and establishment of architecture standards.


  • Leads the data architecture process for reengineering technology solutions and driving the adoption of new technologies by researching technical trends and developments.
  • Defines interims and transition strategies to abstract consumers of change when required and establish a clear path to target.
  • Collaborates with peer product architects to create and maintain Enterprise Architecture target state and interims.
  • Delivers API first data architecture.
  • Aids peer architects in capturing the facades and curations needed to integrate with existing products and clients.
  • Fully understands the enterprise architecture mission and educates others throughout the organization on the function of the governance, architecture, and standards.
  • Determines requirements by assessing business strategies and requirements; research architecture standards; conducts system and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studies architecture/platform; identifies integration issues; and prepares cost estimates.
  • Develops requirements and strategies to address information technology needs and oversees projects through the implementation phase.
  • Works with team members and information technology teams to ensure changes to new or existing technologies are assimilated and functioning correctly.
  • Partners with other technical architects within the company to ensure consistency for Enterprise Architecture processes and practices.
  • Ensures that information technology controls meet the requirements of all regulatory and/or contractual requirements.
  • Researches new and emerging technologies to evaluate technical trends and requirements.
  • Participates and provides evidence in information technology compliance activities in support of internal and/or external audits.
  • Develops and fosters strategic relationships and establishes key organizational partnerships.
  • Establishes collaborative working relationships with internal and external business partners and clients to ensure that technology solutions align with security architecture and business strategy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
  • Requires 12+ years of experience in information technology with at least 8 years of experience working across multiple architecture disciplines
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies


  • Experience working or interfacing with Mainframe technologies
  • Knowledgeable in modern architecture patterns for distributed and cloud native
  • Experience working with or reengineering monolithic architecture
  • Experience with creating Cloud Native technologies or strategies
  • Experience with microservices and micro frontend applications
  • Experience with any of the Kubernetes based platforms (OpenShift (OCP), EKS/ECS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry)
  • Knowledge of financial services industry
  • Thorough understanding of design patterns and their application
  • Fluent in developing and understanding concept and context models,
  • In-depth knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practices
  • Experience working in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) leveraging Agile principles
  • Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging domain driven design based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, business domain and bonded context, etc.
  • Willingly and successfully fulfills the roles of teacher, mentor and coach
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
  • Ability to influence and lead others toward a strategic strategy execution
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts
  • Prefers at least one cloud certification (i.e. AWS, Azure, OCP, GCP etc.)
