Primary Purpose

 

Analyzes complex business problems and issues of diverse scope using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Provides consultation to management and leads cross-functional teams to address business issues. Uses leading-edge analytical tools and techniques to develop creative solutions for clients needs. Develops recommendations and analytics strategies for business. May act as team lead.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a lead professional on cross-functional project teams, especially those with most sensitivity and highest level of difficulty.
  • Serves as liaison with key internal stakeholders, communicating key insights and data-based strategy across all levels of the organization.
  • Applies expertise to address and evaluate significant business needs and complex issues to provide recommended solutions.
  • Reviews and/or conducts specialized analytics related to the most technical projects. Uses data to provide advanced analytical support on critical issues.
  • In lead capacity, oversees the work of other team members, providing training and coaching to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Maintains and expands current knowledge of technical developments in data analytics field.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, data science, information systems, or finance and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience in the areas of testing technical applications, business/project management, customer service, finance, or information technology.
  • Possess a mastery of database querying languages (SQL) and working knowledge of data analysis working tools such as R, Python, or SAS.
  • Must have the ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
  • Strong SharePoint administrator skills. (Dev Ops also preferred)
  • Must have knowledge and experience in scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to develop data visualization reports utilizing Power BI.
  • Ability to manage projects and have influence and negotiation skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, and work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to lead a team to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Sustained attention to quality and detail. Strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
  • Able to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to technical and non-technical audience.
  • Must possess initiative, decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient writing skills are necessary for routine communications and to prepare documentation such as Requirements, Test Plans, Implementation Plans, Training Materials, etc.
  • Proven success on previous system development projects whereby skills have been developed that enable the ability to lead a complex system enhancement or new system project.
  • Ability to serve as liaison between business unit employees and Information Technologies developers to transform business objectives into information technology solutions. Must have the ability to gather and analyze complex data, reach conclusions, develop alternatives, make decisions and act to implement changes.
  • Ability to Utilize the IT Product Lifecycle methodologies to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet business needs. Must have financial analysis and timeline/project skills.
  • Knowledge of Business Practices and ability to define system change impacts on business processes.
  • Strong computer skills are required to demonstrate competency in company supported desktop software (i.e., Microsoft Products including Project, PowerPoint, and Visio).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of predictive modeling and machine learning.
  • Master’s computer science, statistics, data science, or information systems with 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in the areas of testing technical applications, business/project management, customer service, finance, or information technology.
