Full-Time Software Engineering Lead

WHY WE NEED YOU:

Dash Energy is looking for a software engineering professional to lead the development of our product. Your ability to quickly understand our current code base and begin implementing new functionality is critical to the success of our MVP.  You’ll be responsible for leading technical roadmaps, design, and implementation that will shape our product and the future of the energy procurement industry.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead software development – Together with a team of engineers, build the Dash Energy product balancing the team’s priorities, skills and workload to best meet development timelines
  • Influence the product vision and roadmap – Understand and influence the Dash Energy product vision and translate business goals and needs into well-defined, properly-scoped functionality 
  • Serve as technology thought leader – Help shape and drive the technology strategy of the company while also mentoring other engineers to help them become more proficient through example and coaching
  • Build, build, build – You will be rolling up your sleeves and writing code, from the core system to fixing bugs
  • Consider product performance – Prevent, find and address product performance issues through advanced testing procedures and balance technical trade offs such as speed-to-delivery vs ongoing maintainability

ABOUT YOU:

  • 7+ years relevant experience building and supporting web applications as a full stack, engineer at all points in the software lifecycle (experience leading a software team is a plus)
  • Deep understanding of JavaScript, AngularJS, Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB(Familiar with Python/Django and OCR technology a plus)
  • Passion for leading a technical initiative to an on-time delivery
  • Ample experience gathering requirements from business stakeholders and deriving software requirements
  • Proficient in relational database schema design
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers and business stakeholders alike
  • Proficient in effective troubleshooting and issue resolution techniques
  • Experience in designing and building APIs and working with existing SDKs
  • Strategic mindset, accountable and holds yourself and team to high standards 
  • Be self-directed with the ability to apply creativity to complex problems
  • Ability to have fun and enjoy the process of building something great
