Position Summary 

Maintains and evolves USA Triathlon’s social media presence with a goal to educate, entertain and inspire current multisport athletes, while creating opportunities to grow the sport and reach a new audience. Develops compelling video content, as well as the opportunity for additional content such as graphics and articles, to distribute across USA Triathlon’s social media platforms. Passionate about the ever-evolving social media world and always on top of new social trends, products and platforms.


General Duties and Responsibilities

  •     Manages USA Triathlon’s day-to-day social media presence across all social media channels, including TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Strava and LinkedIn
  •     Develops or sources unique copy and visual content, with a focus on short-form creative video, to engage fans, promote the organization’s programs and celebrate the sport of triathlon
  •     Works with Senior Marketing Manager to develop and implement social content calendar
  •     Monitors and analyzes social analytics to guide strategy and best practices, and implement strategy to grow performance based on KPIs
  •     Monitor athlete and influencer channels for sharable content, and identifies opportunities for user-generated content
  •     Collaborates with team regarding social media strategy and campaigns, and works closely with athletes, partners and other departments at USA Triathlon on content creation
  •     Grows USA Triathlon’s social media following and online community
  •     Uses social media to increase brand recognition for the sport and organization, improve value perception, inspire members and non-members, grow membership and drive traffic to
  •     Stays current with social media landscape, marketing and communication methods and other trends, and adapts approaches as needed to stay attractive and relevant with participants, fans, sponsors and donors — including a focus on reaching the next generation of the sport
  •     Provides event support at various USA Triathlon National Championships through live social media coverage and assistance with other tasks as needed
  •     Meet and execute contractual branded content requirements for partners
  •     Acts as vital customer service arm of organization by responding to member and non-member requests and questions on social in a timely manner
  •     Other duties as assigned


  •       Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience
  •       Strong background and proven knowledge in creating content for new and emerging social media platforms including TikTok Snapchat, and/or Instagram Reels
  •     High proficiency with video editing software
  •     Creative, forward-thinker and innovator with expertise in pop culture and emerging digital/social trends
  •     A strong communicator
  •     Bachelor’s degree
  •     Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud collection; skilled with Mac operating system, including mobile devices and technology
  •     Possesses strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple projects at a time
  •     Desire to work within a fast-paced environment as part of a team
  •     Ability to travel for events and work a flexible schedule, including off-hours, weekends and holidays
  •     Ability to work long hours at events with time spent on feet, walking around
  •     Familiarity with the sport of triathlon, or endurance sports, is preferred but not required
  •     Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment as part of a team atmosphere, including effective coordination with members of other departments.

Additional Job Information:
Hiring Pay Range: $40k-$48k
This is a full time, non-exempt position.
