The Position

The Social Media &  Design Specialist creates the overall look and feel of a wide range of interactive communication products and creates graphics, animation and other digital and visual effects. They are able to translate the organization’s message into material for internal and external consumption.

What You Will Do

  • Manage media content on all the various platforms and understand the audience, and how to be creative in building engagement.
  • Create and maintain content calendar for social media platforms
  • Oversee all branding material and ensure consistent look and feel across all of the organization
  • Manage media archive and assist with distribution of assets to external and internal audiences
  • Work closely with Marketing Lead and Engagement Director to provide Strategic vision.
  • Create content including “snakable” videos, GIFs, Photos, Motion Graphics, Presentations, and other digital visual effects
  • Collaborate closely with team members  to discover newsworthy content
  • Prepare rough design concepts for feedback and iteration

Who You Are

  • You have a background in Advertising, Marketing, or Public Relations
  • You have 3-5 years of experience managing various Social media platforms
  • You are an expert in tracking social media data and platform algorithms to maximize engagement
  • You are an experienced designer with advanced technical skills with a background in visual arts
  • You are creative and eager to take on challenges
  • You thrive in collaborative environments but can work autonomously when needed
  • You are passionate and willing to think outside the box
  • You are able to design in a high-paced, flexible environment
  • You are self-sufficient, able to learn/adapt, and able to mentor others
  • You are a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

We hire at the GS-12 level equivalent. This means you can expect a salary of $86,283 to $112,172 (depending on experience) for a Boston-based position (pay will be adjusted by location), as well as paid time off, health, and retirement benefits. There are advancement opportunities to promote to senior levels after hiring.
