Division: Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
Term: Permanent
Hours of work: 3 Shift Rotation, 12 Hours, 39 Hours per week
Salary: TBC depending on experience

This collaborative approach to contract manufacturing has produced many commercial successes over the years, including the best-selling British computer of all time, the Raspberry Pi. We also work to pioneer the latest ground-breaking manufacturing processes of the future through the Advanced Manufacturing Research Operations Centre.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
To work as part of the Surface Mount Production Engineering department, participating in a small technical team providing maintenance and breakdown cover of surface mount machinery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Repair of surface mount machinery.
  • Continuous TPM (total productive maintenance) activities.
  • Make investigations around product quality.
  • Monitor machine performance rates.
  • Fault finding/root cause analysis
  • Writing technical reports, problem communication.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Essential:
  • Understanding of circuit board assembly Equipment
  • Understanding of electrical circuit diagrams
  • A sound mechanical competency is required
  • Able to communicate at all levels, write technical reports.
  • Qualified to ONC/HNC engineering discipline.

 

Desirable:
  • The personal skills to work within a demanding production / target driven environment.
  • Good Aptitude for complex and technical operations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative.

 

Equipment Used:
  • Basic machine shop tools and hand tools
  • Soldering Iron
  • Test & measurement equipment
  • PC based software tools e.g. Microsoft Office
