The Team & Role 

We are seeking a passionate sales professional with demonstrated success opening new opportunities via outbound prospecting, managing a sales pipeline and closing new business. As an Account Executive, you will schedule demos with prospective customers, qualify opportunities, and close business under the guidance of a frontline sales manager. You will also have the opportunity to grow accounts that you initially close by adding additional users and selling new products. We value an in office culture with flexibility to help promote camaraderie and growth.  


  • Research, identify, and engage high growth prospects to build and manage a sales pipeline 
  • Close new SMB business with a high velocity including selling upmarket opportunities 
  • Identify and close up-sell/cross-sell/expansion opportunities
  • Customer centric approach focused on building and maintaining relationships with key customers, from senior leaders to individual contributors
  • Bring positive, team-first energy and help make Gem an exceptional place to work 
  • Work closely with SDR team and cross-functional partners to support your deal cycles 


  • Minimum 2-4 years of sales, renewal, or business development experience, ideally with one year of closing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate sales pipeline and exceed sales targets in an inside sales setting
  • Willingness to work in a true startup environment and take on new and unexpected challenges with positivity and creativity 
  • Must be exceptionally organized and have experience leveraging Salesforce as a workflow accelerator
  • Experience selling software to startups or selling HR tech solutions preferred but not required
