Full-Time Showcase Program Manager

EDUCAUSE, a higher education technology association, has an opportunity for a Program Manager for our online Showcase offerings.

This highly visible role will support the EDUCAUSE Showcase product initiative, a theme-based series of online experiences that bring together the best of our resources and content into timely, relevant education for our users/members, while providing rich engagement opportunities for our corporate partners. This role will be instrumental in the execution of these experiences and analyzing their success.

Position Summary:
The Showcase Program Manager will be the primary point person to lead the ongoing evolution of our Showcase series.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to craft a vision for and execute toward the final web presence/experience in which the Showcases will be housed, including association, corporate and  partner materials.

You will help to operationalize the showcase model by assisting with the organization and alignment of EDUCAUSE materials within a given theme/storyline. The program manager collaborates with internal teams to ensure execution of each showcase theme, from assisting in content creation/curation to publishing and promotion via various marketing channels to helping with the execution of the concept at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference.

The Showcase Program Manager will also work with EDUCAUSE corporate members and other external partners to communicate promotional opportunities existing within EDUCAUSE-produced content, and/or to develop derivative content relevant to both the showcase theme and the primary business/product/value proposition of the partner.

This role is the point of contact, ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are informed of plans, progress and potential issues. The Program Manager works closely with the EDUCAUSE cross-unit teams and relevant staff for project planning and execution, collaborates with external partners on deliverables related to content sponsorships, and prepares updates and raises unresolved issues to the executive team as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Design and Development
  • Work closely with executives, department leaders and project leads to understand and outline requirements
  • Develop strategies and processes to ensure effective delivery of each showcase theme within the identified timeframe
  • Manage process flow for execution of showcases, from concept to post-launch assessment
  • Research and analyze competitors and market best practices on a regular basis and as needed
  • Collaborate closely with Showcase theme core teams to advise and help make implementation decisions
  • Establish, implement, and monitor Showcase program KPIs/metrics and provide insights to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to craft a vision for and execute toward the final web presence/experience in which the Showcases will be housed
  • Evaluate best-of-breed engagement platforms and experiences to inform and assist with the development of the display/expression of the showcase EDUCAUSE Annual Conference Management and Administrative Support
  • Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure the themed experience is developed and delivered as planned
  • Ensure effective communication and stakeholder management/support
  • Suggest and justify requirements regarding content delivery and promotion
  • Assist in the creation of detailed work plans for each theme
  • Identify role-based workflows, optimizing as needed
  • Ensure execution of projects are within timeline and budget; apprise executive team of any potential issues
  • Identify opportunities for accelerating critical milestones and work plans
  • Investigate program vulnerabilities and recommend solutions
  • Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders and partners to ensure that stated and unstated goals, issues, concerns and priorities are surfaced, understood and addressed
  • Influence, activate, and orchestrate across teams to build alignment and drive project completion, managing feedback/pain points from the internal and external stakeholders
  • Foster relationships with key external partners/vendors
Strategic Partnership Engagement 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement effective showcase engagement opportunities valuable to both corporate and institutional members
  • Support the execution of partnership tactics approved by the executive team with relevant organizations (i.e. private industry, associations, non-profits, etc.) that will elevate the showcase experience and enrich member value throughout the year
  • Collaborate with external partners including corporations, associations and subject matter experts after consultation with internal stakeholders to offer unique and diverse member experiences, and grow EDUCAUSE brand awareness
  • Identify opportunities for, propose, or create new content in conjunction with external partners

Candidate Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have at least 5 years of experience in managing marketing, business development or sales programs in an organization. You know how to develop strong relationships with stakeholders, inspire confidence, and communicate effectively with project collaborators by presenting complex problems and issues in an easy-to-understand manner. As an analytical and process-oriented thinker, you have a track record of reviewing existing products and processes, identifying gaps and opportunities, and providing recommendations for improvements

You should have a deep understanding of business models related to content marketing and third party promotion, including but not limited to branding campaigns, lead generation, cost per acquisition, cost per click, and sponsorship models. You have influenced and made business decisions through collecting, analyzing, presenting, and assessing quantitative and qualitative data with a focus on user experience and content promotion best practices.

We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated ability to take abstract concepts and drive them into concrete specifications, influence others and negotiate effectively, work independently and solve problems. The Showcase Program Manager will need strong project management skills, including a demonstrated ability to manage high level progress on multiple projects with tight deadlines. strong organizational skills, with emphasis on time-management, attention to detail and the ability to plan, organize and carry out multiple activities with sometimes competing deadlines.

Strong candidates will be familiar with traditional and digital marketing channels, content marketing and platforms, and digital marketing metrics as well as with best practices for UX design. This role will also require a strong understanding of SEO, keyword research, information architecture, and usability best practices. Experience leading rapid and adaptive processes/projects processes/projects is helpful.

The salary range for this position starts at $85,000. The actual salary offered  will reflect the depth of relevant skill sand experience of the final candidate. Our benefit package includes medical and dental insurance, employer paid life and disability insurance, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid personal time, nine paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and a retirement plan with generous employer matching.
