Full-Time Shift Supervisor at Supportive Housing

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Shift Supervisor provides staff leadership and oversight of the shift ensuring quality of the program operations. This position provides direct services to clients, as well as supervision of staff in partnership with the Program Coordinator and/or Program Manager. Whether ensuring the Policies and Procedures are followed or providing administrative support this position will receive direct support from the Program Coordinator.

**Effective 2021, all new hires to Compass are required as a pre-condition of employment to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to their start date.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Located in Auburn, WA Dpn’s Place is a hybrid housing program combining aspects of both Compass’ Enhanced Shelter and Permanent Supportive Housing Programs. It provides non-time limited emergency housing with 24/7 supportive services for adults and couples. Referrals for Program Participants will be received from Coordinated Entry for All and the local Auburn community. In addition to supportive services, Program Participants have access to daily meals, 24/7 staffing, laundry, and other resources including referrals and linkages to medical and mental health services and other benefits to assist in addressing any barriers to long term housing.

Compass Housing Alliance is offering a Signing Bonus of *$2,500 for Shift Supervisors, Program Coordinators and Program Managers at our Auburn Emergency Housing Location!

*$2,500 is paid upon completion of 60 days of satisfactory employment with Compass Housing Alliance, in a lump sum and fully taxable.


REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator


SCHEDULE #1: Friday-Tuesday 4pm-12am

SCHEDULE #2: Friday-Tuesday 12am-8am

STAFF MEETING: Staff meeting to be determined once the program opens

SALARY RANGE: $23.50-$26.50 per hour DOE and within Compass ranges

  • Work experience is a key factor for success in this role. In addition, success in this role requires a passion for knowledge and drive for continuing professional development or education. A degree in social work or related field would be a complement to the required experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of relatable supervisory experience
  • A minimum of 1-year of experience in human services, shelter, residential (work and/or volunteer), desired.
  • Awareness and/or training around issues of equity, intersectionality, and belonging.
  • Familiarity with issues of housing instability, mental health, substance use, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired. Experience working with clients with English as a second language or where there is limited English speaking ability.
  • Current WA State Food Handlers Permit, desired (If not current, will be sponsored within 1-month of hire).
  • Valid WA driver’s license, proof of car insurance, and a driving record that meets Compass standards, required.
