Full-Time Senior Revenue Accountant

Job Description

The Senior Revenue Accountant is a key member of the global revenue accounting team responsible for the day-to-day activities required to account for revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP. Reporting to the Manager of Revenue Accounting, the Senior Revenue Accountant will work closely with members of our global revenue team in Seattle, Durham, and in the UK. The Senior Revenue Accountant is also responsible for performing research and analysis on issues that arise as part of the monthly close process, as well as documenting contract reviews and the performance of internal controls.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including preparation of revenue schedules, GAAP revenue analysis, account reconciliations, roll forwards, journal entries, and preparation of the close package
  • Prepare and review revenue transactions to ensure they are accurately recorded in accordance with US GAAP
  • Perform monthly reporting and analysis
  • Perform independent technical accounting research and document conclusions in memoranda
  • Perform and document revenue contract reviews
  • Perform and document SOX internal control procedures
  • Create high quality workpapers, and document processes and templates to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules, interact and provide details for testing to internal and external auditors relating to both the US Financial Statement and UK Statutory audits.

Our preferred candidate:

  • B.A. in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience, public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • SaaS and/or Software revenue recognition experience
  • ASC 606 revenue recognition experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with NetSuite ARM or similar revenue management systems
  • Able to articulate technical revenue accounting guidance (ASC 606) and apply it to real world situations
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Versatile player in the revenue accounting team that can perform various tasks ranging from routine close procedures to ad hoc projects
  • Great time-management skills to handle multiple deliverables simultaneously between teams and processes spanning multiple countries
  • Effective organizational skills complemented by strong attention to detail
  • Positive and “can do” attitude that is comfortable working in a dynamic, high-growth environment

***We’re opening this role to candidates located in commuting distance from our Durham, NC office as this will be a hybrid role***
