This is an exciting role for as Senior Manufacturing Engineer with an Industrial background.

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities will include;

 

 

 

* Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

* Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.

* Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

* Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.

* Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.

* Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

* Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

* Maintains relationships and coaches key stakeholders.

 

 

 

Key Skills and Experience

 

 

 

Candidate will have 5- 7 years of Intermediate level of relevant work experience required with an emphasis in Industrial Engineering including experience in;

* Work Measurement – Quantifies and evaluates the elements of work that make up a process by breaking it down into detailed steps to identify and reduce waste, and redistribute work content to optimize process flows.

* Line Balancing – Evaluates work activities performed by individuals or machines to identify opportunities to optimize operating time and distributing of the work content to meet the changes in customer demands while continuing to optimize manufacturing processes.

* Process Documentation – Produces written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization.

* Workstation Design – Designs operator work station that are safe, healthy, and ergonomic while accounting for cost, quality, and delivery to contribute to an efficient work environment.

* Process Layout – Creates and/or modifies an optimized manufacturing process by incorporating knowledge of equipment, human interfaces, sequences of production steps, and facilities requirements in order to reduce process time and waste.

Problem Solving – Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

Controls Engineering Knowledge – Applies the application of controls hardware and software by specifying, reviewing, and approving company-owned and/or supplier designs for new or upgrades to existing equipment to interface with all levels of manufacturing systems.

Equipment/Capital Procurement – Selects manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs.

 

Ergonomic Fundamentals – Understands ergonomic concepts by applying Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.

 

Industrial Engineering Knowledge – Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.

 

Manufacturing Knowledge – Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function’s needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

 

Optimizes work processes – Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

 

 

 

Education, Licenses, Certifications

 

College, university, or equivalent degree required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

 

 

 

 

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
