About the position

Reporting to the Senior Director of Learning and Activation, the Senior Manager of Learning is responsible for capturing knowledge, designing resources and developing content to support learning across the Network as well among StriveTogether staff. The primary purpose of the new position is to support acceleration of equitable results in the StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network by leveraging design thinking methodologies to lead strategy in the development of multi-media learning resources and tools. The successful candidate will possess strong design thinking, writing, time management and customer service skills.

 

Responsibilities

Curate, codify and co-create learning resources

  • Work collaboratively with StriveTogether staff and Network members to curate learning
  • Employ empathy and design thinking to curate and synthesize learning from the Network
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Network Experience in designing and managing the partner portal to support learning being shared across the Network
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify and prioritize learning opportunities
  • Analyze qualitative data collected through Network surveys and StriveTogether’s Network Navigator program
  • Commit to learning and applying the Results Count™ framework in day-to-day work

Integrate user-centered design methodologies

  • Champion human-centered design processes that enable us to learn, practice, and evolve our ability to understand shifting user needs
  • Support learning team’s data strategy by implementing qualitative research processes when needed (interviewing, moderating, ethnographic research, contextual interviews, field studies, etc.)
  • Create differentiated learning experiences by simplifying and tailoring resources for specific audiences
  • Advocate for user voice and agency in the co-creation of all learning content
  • Maintain both a deep curiosity and a clear line of sight for moving Network members from learning to action
  • Advocate for cross-team solutions that create high-yield solutions through creative problem solving

Develop and distribute resources to support learning

  • Facilitate internal and Network groups in developing tools and resources to accelerate results while considering multiple audiences and learning styles
  • Create and curate meaningful multi-media tools, resources and content to capture learning in partnership with the Learning and Activation team
  • Work closely with the communication team to develop content that meets brand and editorial guidelines
  • Use a variety of mediums to deliver content including video, written reports and other creative platforms
  • Synthesize and distribute learning consistently to StriveTogether programs staff to support their roles with the Network
  • Use design thinking principles to curate learning and actively solicit feedback throughout the process
  • Distribute learning tools, case studies, blogs, etc., with the Network every month to support peer-to-peer learning
  • Support continuous improvement of StriveTogether curriculum, resources and tools based on emergent insights
  • Collaborate with colleagues and Network partners to develop and implement learning/engagement/amplification strategies to distribute the resources developed

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading Design Thinking, Service Design, Experience Design and other human-centered design efforts
  • Three to Five years-experience required; Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, design thinking, communication or communication design preferred
  • Proven record of driving, facilitating, and delivering high quality design outputs across multiple channels (digital, physical, human).
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience communicating complex topics and concepts in a clear, concise manner to audiences with varying levels of expertise
  • Qualitative research experience that includes interviewing, moderating, ethnographic research, contextual interviews and field studies desired
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to deliver high quality content under tight deadlines
  • Effective collaborator with ability to Integrate diverse thinking and feedback during multiple rounds of revisions
  • Unwavering commitment to racial equity
  • Ability to be self-directed and independent, with a track record of taking initiative and delivering on commitments
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with experience organizing and prioritizing work quickly in response to changing needs
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Some travel required

Position Details

This is an exempt position with a salary of $66,000-$87,000. StriveTogether offers competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience and skills.  This position will work out of the Cincinnati, Ohio, or Chicago, Illinois, office.
