Senior Manager, Hospitality and Event Partnerships

The purpose of the Senior Manager, Hospitality & Event Partnerships is to develop and grow hospitality and event partners in order to grow revenues and inspire partners to support the activities of TIFF through mutually beneficial partnerships. Reporting into the Director, Partnerships, departmental activities are designed to prospect, cultivate, steward, renew, and upgrade a prescribed portfolio of Hospitality and Event Partners to engage in TIFF’s mission while achieving annual revenue target and in-kind support for the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of the team sales strategy to achieve annual revenue target, contributing to the organization’s financial sustainability through maximized revenue and in-kind support from partners.
  • Oversee Hospitality & Event Partnerships incoming revenue and budget, working closely with the Finance department to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop and maintain team processes and documents for Hospitality & Event Partnerships, including annual review of rental rates & sales collateral
  • Develop innovative sales strategies for outreach and renewing clients to drive sales pipelines and revenues, utilizing both TIFF Bell Lightbox and TIFF’s digital platform. 
  • Liaise with internal departments to create new opportunities for engaging clients and partners.
  • Dedicated senior support for the partners of direct report (currently 1), and support to Director, Partnerships in professional development planning for the team.
  • Ensure all terms of partnership agreements are fulfilled and that the highest level of professional account service is delivered including post-event analysis packages.

Event Partnerships (Partner Festivals and Event Rentals)

  • Grow and oversee TIFF relationships with large-scale/top-tier Partner Festivals/Rentals, advocating for them internally at TIFF.
  • Steward Partner Festival relationships for cultural community integration and audience development initiatives that are mutually beneficial and align with TIFF’s business objectives. 
  • Manage large-scale, multi-day event bookings valued at over $20,000 including site visits, cost estimates, and contracting.
  • Act as the internal liaison for film shoot bookings at TIFF Bell Lightbox, maintaining, including managing all incoming inquiries, contracts, and invoicing.
  • Review, approve/decline, and assign all incoming third party event inquiries.

Hospitality Partnerships

  • Act as lead on Hospitality Partnerships to inspire the hospitality industry (hotels, catering & restaurants) to support TIFF both financially and through in-kind exchanges
  • Maintain partner renewal rate of 80% and a upsell rate of 15% across portfolio average as set out in annual Performance Agreement across portfolio
  • Lead meetings, idea generation, contract negotiation and management of all Hospitality Partners, including all internal TIFF meetings that require a representative of the Hospitality programme. Work with various departments throughout TIFF to implement
  • Create, recommend, and oversee the development of unique and exciting promotional initiatives to enhance partners’ involvement. Bringing additional value to TIFF and the partner seasonally; with specific focus on opportunities outside of the September Festival.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years’ experience in the area of event sales, hospitality, partnerships, and relationship management/event planning (or equivalent experience in a related field will be considered).
  • Related post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or arts organization is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience managing staff
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
