DomainTools is seeking a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to join our real-time data engineering team. This team maintains and builds upon an infrastructure for high-volume sharing of security-relevant network telemetry. We want you to facilitate, research, develop, and deliver cutting edge techniques to both efficiently process high volumes of streaming data and analyze and index at-rest archives of data to deliver useful, consumable data products to the information security community.

In this position, you will work closely with small, highly collaborative Product, Operations, and other Development teams to architect and deploy high impact security solutions. As a Principal member of the team, you can provide technical leadership and drive best practices for critical components of the company’s data products and infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, code and maintain high volume data gathering, processing, indexing and delivery systems
  • Discover, analyze and validate new data sets to add value for our customers
  • Find creative solutions to complex systems problems.
  • Research and employ cutting edge techniques & technologies
  • Provide code reviews, design feedback, demos, technical requirements & documentation
  • Scope projects, provide accurate estimates for reliable delivery of projects
  • Accelerate engineering productivity, reduce operational toil, increase consistency, and improve the lives of your coworkers every day
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers
  • Work with Technical Council to guide platform and application architectures

Requirements

Key Applicant Qualifications

  • Professional coding experience using C and Python, GoLang or equivalent an language: 5+ years
  • Linux/Unix experience: 5+ years
  • Positive attitude

  • Ability to write secure, robust, clear and maintainable code

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/related field or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with streaming algorithms and techniques for processing real-time data
  • Development experience in multiple languages and programming paradigms
  • Systems and network programming experience
