Job Title: Senior Designer-Trail/Hike
Reports to: Global Creative Design Director
Location: Ventura, Ca

The Patagonia Creative Studio is an in-house creative team providing digital, editorial, film, photographic, and print and marketing materials that give voice to business and environmental initiatives. In addition, the studio develops and maintains Patagonia’s global visual identity.

In this position you will be the primary design lead for the Trail and Hiking category creative team. This creative team consists of a Senior Designer, Managing Copy Editor, Photo Editor and Marketing Operations Manager.

As a Senior Designer you will collaborate closely with Category Marketers to refine marketing concepts and works under the direction of the Creative Design Director to develop all creative from concept through production-handoff. In this role you will serve as both a high level creative conceptual thinker and a hands-on maker. You work in collaboration with the Director of Creative Production to deliver creative assets and direction globally.

In addition, as a Senior Designer you will work cross functionally with cross-category partners, with a goal of consistency of voice and a seamless Patagonia journey.

What You’ll Do:

Drive creative ideas that spark connections with the natural world and incite citizens to take action in support of our home planet.
Develop category positioning and storytelling campaigns.
Conceptualization of seasonal ‘Go-To-Market’ product campaigns.
In-studio product photography art direction.
Partner with Retail, ECommerce and Social Media teams to ensure that all campaigns are consistently executed across all communication and sales channels.
Insure timely execution of final creative solutions and deliver direction to production designers.
Access and manage external talent for creative development and execution as necessary.
Able to think across media and activate the brand globally.
Takes a leadership role in establishing and maintaining a global visual identity for the assigned categories in all regions.
Ensure design harmony across all brand and product communication touchpoints in collaboration with other category Senior Designers.

Experience You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital design or related field.
7+ years experience in graphic design.
Superior typographic knowledge.
Excellent collaborative and inter-personal skills.
Proven ability to develop creative and activate marketing stories across various media.
Expert knowledge of Adobe products, working knowledge of Figma, and a self-motivated approach to learning new and evolving creative tools.
Relevant experience creating for an audience endemic to trail running and/or hiking.
