Gem is hiring our first Senior Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging [DEI&B] Lead! Gem has made strong investments in DEI&B from our company’s beginning, and this role will get to take the work the company has done to date to the next level. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, we’re looking for a strategic DEI&B expert to sit on our People leadership team and partner with our execs, managers, ERGs, and employees. This role will deliver our DEI&B strategy at Gem, from recruiting to engagement, in alignment with our value of Diversity. This role will need strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce an overall best-in-class Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging strategy that aligns with Gem’s value of Diversity and encompasses strategy for recruiting to engagement
  • Be a key stakeholder in all People program design and decision making, ensuring we’re successfully taking a DEI&B lens to everything we do
  • Directly partner with the Chief Recruiting Officer to put together diversity strategies that are scalable, innovative, and show longer term thinking.
  • Work directly with our ERG leaders to support them in initiatives, annual planning, and their own leadership development
  • Serving as the external voice for DEI&B at Gem – through blogs, releasing our representation, webinars, and more
  • Managing the overall DEI&B budget across Gem

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience developing DEI&B Strategy at functional or company level
  • Experience partnering with talent leadership that includes a strong focus on diversity recruiting efforts
  • Strong written and verbal communication – will be relied upon for internal and external speaking engagements 
  • Strong business acumen and ability to link DEI into company objectives, including making a business case for systemic investments
  • Experience interacting with various levels of leadership
  • Collaborate effectively across a broad set of stakeholders to make decisions
