Full-Time Senior Contracts Specialist

Job Description

The Senior Contracts Specialist will be an integral part of the Americas Sales Operations Team.   The individual will work with the regional Sales and Business Development Teams by helping with the sales process from start to finish, including managing commercial contracts and other administrative functions. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Legal, Finance, Marketing, Data Security, Regulatory, and Service to negotiate and generate contracts that provide a beneficial outcome for both customers and Accuray.  The successful candidate is detail-oriented, a self-starter, has excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrates exceptional multitasking ability under tight deadlines in a fast-past environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a dedicated team of sales representatives and acting as the primary point of contact for assigned sales region.
  • Review, draft, redline, negotiate and administer commercial contracts following internal policies and best practices while evaluating both business and customer needs and making recommendations to sales representatives and Sr. Management.
  • Exercise exceptional knowledge and judgment of the legal, financial, regulatory, and business risk in purchase order and commercial contract terms and conditions.  Must be able to communicate these risks to company decision-makers.
  • Create various business-related letters as needed.
  • Carry out other administrative functions, including but not limited to order management, supporting background checks for potential distribution partners, running ad-hoc reports for monitoring data integrity.
  • Assist with administrative procedures, as needed, to facilitate timely and responsible processing of contract documentation.
  • Maintain an alternative contract language library and amend existing contract templates in collaboration with our Legal department.
  • Assist with various corporate projects, as required.

Qualifications:

a. Required

  • Minimum of eight (8+) years of solid experience maintaining, drafting, negotiating and editing various commercial contracts.
  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Ability to analyze contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, Government regulations, legal, SOX, and revenue recognition requirements.
  • Capable of identifying issues for escalation to legal and/or management.  Able to review, understand, redline and negotiate sales, service, and distribution contracts.
  • Excellent analytical and contract administration skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with sales, customers and internal teams.
  • Exceptional data entry skills required. Microsoft AX experience a plus.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to effectively multi-task several complex assignments with tight deadlines and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with Salesforce CRM is strongly desired.
  • Strategic thinking, has the aptitude to influence others, creative problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

b. Preferred or Desired

  • Previous experience with Health industry and Capital equipment agreements is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating data privacy and IT security agreements a plus.
