Full-Time Senior Consultant – NYC Outsourced Services

FMA seeks an individual with a passion for nonprofit excellence. The Senior Consultant will work with the FMA Outsourcing team in our New York City offices to provide accounting services and be a strategic partner with our clients in and around the New York City area. The Senior Consultant reports to FMA Lead Consultants and Directors. As a senior role, this position participates in high level accounting/financial services and supervises, mentors, and helps train FMA and client staff.
Assist Outsourcing team in completion of basic accounting requirements for FMA clients
Deliver not-for-profit financial Outsourcing services including but not limited to budget development, cash flow planning, software implementation, training, senior level accounting services, and audit support packages
Represent client during audit process
Present to outside clients, Boards of Directors and FMA team members as needed
Responsible for business development – expand existing and cultivate new relationships
Participate in planning and case management activities
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar field with a major in Accounting required
5+ years of experience as an accountant in a non-profit setting or Public Accounting
CPA preferred, but not required
Strong knowledge of Fund Accounting Software products (Financial Edge, Fund EZ, Intacct), Excel and Microsoft Office required
Previous consulting and people management experience preferred
Must be collaborative, proactive, independent and flexible – and adapt easily to changing client demands
Excellent communication skills (including active listening), strong customer service orientation and strong relationship-building skills
15-25% travel should be expected
