The Senior Community Relations Program Manager is responsible for administering the co-op’s community outreach and giving programs that advance our triple bottom line and increases our presence in the community. They will work collaboratively across the organization to help build and engage PCC’s communities.Part of the Social & Environmental Responsibility team, this customer-centric person will work collaboratively across the co-op to help build, engage and strengthen PCC’s commitment to organic and sustainable food systems by supporting the co-op’s community and giving programs. Priority apply by date: May 12, 2021

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Manages and executes a range of community relations programs and initiatives related to community engagement, donations, grants and sponsorships
  • Seeks to consistently improve key co-op community relations and giving programs to ensure they have maximum efficiency and impact
  • Maintains and grows connections with relevant non-profits and community partners
  • Understands trends in community relations and giving, including the activities of other co-ops and competitors
  • Works closely with stores, counsels on neighborhood community and giving plans, maintains and grows connections with leadership teams
  • Assists with new store success by developing comprehensive and inclusive community engagement plans, as assigned
  • Positively contributes to the team and works collaboratively across the organization to achieve the needs of the team and business
  • Supports the Director of Community and Giving with other initiatives as needed

  • Reports to: Director of Community and Giving

Qualifications and Skills

  • Passion for food, social impact and PCC’s values (listed below)
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive customer service orientation toward staff and public
  • 7+years of direct and progressive experience executing and managing a variety of giving programs, fundraising events and community relations activities, including successfully tracking budgets, meeting deadlines, administering programs, coordinating volunteers and/or providing direct customer service
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent job experience
  • Experience integrating diversity, equity and inclusion into outreach and giving efforts
  • Experience in a retail environment strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and problem solve with excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills and ability, remotely and in person
  • Strong computer skills with an intermediate-level understanding of Microsoft Office Suite; experience managing giving software preferred
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to anticipate problems and follow through to complete tasks successfully
  • Team player with a “can-do” attitude who appreciates working collaboratively as well as independently
  • Available to work some evenings and weekends, and able to travel to all store locations and to other work-related locations
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving large objects or boxes
  • Valid Washington state driver’s license and reliable transportation
