Full-Time Senior Associate, Audience Development and Engagement

Job Description

AtlanticLIVE seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and service-minded Senior Associate, Audience Development and Engagement to join our team and contribute to the growth, development, and execution of AtlanticLIVE’s editorial events and programs.  Beyond delivering curated audiences and white-glove client service, the new Senior Associate will help to optimize processes & workflows, innovate our offerings, and look for opportunities to add value to AtlanticLIVE’s business model.

Responsibilities of the Senior of Audience Development and Engagement include:

Audience Acquisition

  • Manage the audience development and engagement arc from initial invitation to post-event reporting
  • Mine existing list database to curate targeted and relevant audiences for each event
  • Conduct thorough research to develop customized and targeted audience lists for events ranging in scale and topic
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to track deliverables and timelines and to provide consistent progress reports
  • With support of manager, continually assess market for research and software based tools
  • With support of manager, help define tasks for and manage activities of contractor support during busy periods
  • Contribute to strategies that support prospect-list growth

Email and communications

  • Strong research and writing skills; craft compelling marketing messages that engage audiences
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns and recruitment strategies to achieve attendance goals for events
  • Organize written assets within a clean, accessible and useable knowledge management system
  • Manage dedicated customer service inbox, providing timely and accurate support to enhance audience experience with LIVE
  • Collaborate cross functionally on cross-platform audience efforts, e.g. subscriber outreach
  • Own  and project manage email-marketing calendar, and maintain for cross-team collaboration

Database management

  • Lead efforts to update LIVE database with audience and audience partner information
  • Ensure accurate and secure transfer of registration data to Salesforce, maintaining data hygiene standards

Data and reporting

  • Manage pre/post-event materials and report outs as part of communication campaigns
  • Develop and deliver audience surveys to better understand audience needs, behaviors, and perceptions of The Atlantic’s events
  • Track and monitor audience development for a specific portfolio of events, evolving recruitment strategies as needed
  • Prepare data driven and actionable recommendations to improve engagement and conversion rates
  • Manage post-event reporting procedures and present major findings to the larger team

Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience in events, marketing or relevant fields (internships included)
  • Experience in CRMS and  list management (Salesforce preferred)
  • Prior experience managing email marketing efforts in an ESP (Sailthru preferred)
  • Foundational knowledge of email design with HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with email reporting and analysis
  • Keen sense of curiosity, organized, and highly collaborative
