The role supervises schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery plan development activities. Responsible for planning and scheduling activities for large projects; or major sub-portfolios with significant non-routine requirements; or discipline/project/proposal estimating or staff planning activities that require a high degree of technical skill and experience.Supports/performs project organizational and administrative activities. Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing, and providing innovative solutions to planning and scheduling problems. Provides generally non-routine scheduling guidance to projects.

Responsibilities

You will have extensive knowledge and a proven track record in planning and scheduling; demonstrating extensive application and knowledge of planning & scheduling tools and techniques and experience in the leadership, development and coaching of planning and scheduling individuals, alongside demonstrable experience of Primavera P6 or equivalent planning and scheduling software in addition to corporate performance reporting.

You will combine your specialist scheduling expertise with a talent and passion for problem solving, engaging with and managing people, to challenge, negotiate and influence at all levels across the business building relationships with key stakeholders and supporting the wider team in adhering to scheduling best practice.

As a Principal Scheduler, you will work with colleagues across the project team and our industrial suppliers to define and agree how the project schedule will be structured and monitored. You will provide planning & schedule perspective input to a diverse range of key project decision support outputs across multiple functional areas. You will have demonstrable experience of setting and maintaining the Performance Measurement Baseline, managing an Earned Value Management system, performance monitoring and baseline change control.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will be able to demonstrate recent experience of working within a Commercial setting. You will provide monthly reporting and analysis including critical path, milestones, resourcing, EVM to ensure governance meetings are focused on areas requiring attention.

Although this post is advertised in Vulcan, applications in Abbeywood, Bristol would also be considered.

What you will be assessed against

To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

• Scheduling-specific knowledge equivalent to a Technical or Business degree and APM PQ qualification.
• Competent with extensive experience in a similar role that includes project schedule development and maintenance on complex projects across different CADMID phases.
• It would be essential for you to have a demonstrable experience of Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques and Primavera P6 or equivalent planning and scheduling software, across different levels of complexity throughout the project life cycle
